A new product has arrived! It uses an obi made entirely of silk with a maple and chrysanthemum pattern.
The beauty of the Japanese maple was described in the Man'yōshū (the oldest surviving collection of Japanese poetry, compiled in the second half of the 8th century), and the Tale of Genji. (A work considered a major work of 11th-century Japanese literature) In the Muromachi period (1336-1573), the aristocracy actively went on “maple hunts” to admire the maples in the distant fields and mountains.
The chrysanthemum is a symbol of longevity and dignity (the imperial coat of arms is also a chrysanthemum).
The inner fabric has also been generously made from a fabric that had been used as an obi lining.
