Our Obi-Kimono cushions are not mere decorative objects, but true works of art. Each cushion is handmade in our Parisian workshop, where we carefully select and cut patterns from authentic Japanese obi belts, which can measure up to 4 meters in length.
MAISON MIYABI reinterprets these traditional Japanese works of art so that they blend perfectly with Western interiors.
History of the pattern:
This cushion was made by an Obi with a cherry blossom motif.
Yozakura are cherry blossoms seen at night. In particular, cherry blossoms can be admired by lighting lanterns or bonfires near cherry trees. In Japan, cherry blossoms only bloom for a maximum of one week. The cherry blossoms are beautiful to see by day, but by night they're fantastic, like a dream on a spring night.
The inner fabric was also generously made from a fabric that had been used as the lining of an obi with the different cherry blossom motif.
