A traditional Nishijin obi from Kyoto measures roughly four meters. Yet only its most noble portion—about 60%—displays the intricate woven motifs worthy of a fine cushion. The obi serves as the kimono belt, the essential component securing the garment. In our Parisian atelier, we handpick the most sublime fragment, where the weaving reaches its absolute zenith. From this pursuit of rarity, we craft no more than four pillow cushions per obi. Every piece is hand-sewn; no two creations are alike.
