At MAISON MIYABI, we reimagine traditional Japanese masterpieces to blend seamlessly with sophisticated Western interiors. Our cushions are far more than decorative objects; they are authentic works of art, handcrafted in our Parisian atelier.
The Story Behind the Motif: Resilience and Renewal This cushion celebrates the Umé (plum blossom), one of Japan’s most beloved symbols of resilience. Blooming amidst the lingering cold of winter, the plum tree is the first to announce the arrival of spring. It represents perseverance, vitality, and enduring prosperity, making it a signature motif for New Year festivities. To possess an Umé motif is to invite a spirit of strength and hope into one's home. The design is vibrantly finished with mustard piping and a yellow taffeta backing, radiating warmth and optimism.
